"Any action that changes the appearance and condition of a place must consider its effect on the wider landscape. It is vital to see the bigger picture. This is the role of landscape architecture. Landscape architecture is rooted in an understanding of how the environment works and what makes each place unique. It is a blend of science and art, vision and thought. It is a creative profession skilled in strategic planning, delivery and management. One of the most important aspects of landscape design is its influence on quality of life and social interaction."

At FLA our expertise is rooted in the land and its relation to the built form. We seek first to understand the unique challenges and opportunities of a project; Effective design requires careful integration of the myriad features of a particular site, from issues of aesthetics and to those of ecology, circulation, infrastructure, visual impacts, and economic viability. We take advantage of technological advances that will improve both the process and outcome of a project, whether the concern is aesthetic, functional, ecological or economic.

We can provide a range of services appropriate to any scheme, including;

  • Masterplanning
  • Ecology, restoration and conservation
